Associate Professor Nghiem Doan is not simply a dentist — he is a clinician, researcher, educator, and innovator whose four-decade career has shaped the very fabric of modern dental care in Queensland. From earning his Bachelor of Dental Science at the University of Queensland in 1988, Dr. Doan has never stopped pushing the frontiers of what is possible within the dental field.
Training at the Eastman Dental Institute at University College London under the world's leading maxillofacial surgeons reshaped how Dr. Doan approached every complex procedure.
In 1998, he obtained his qualification in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery from the Eastman Dental Institute, one of the most respected dental institutions in the world. His pursuit of knowledge continued: a Master in Public Health from the University of Queensland (2000), a PhD at QUT's Institute of Health and Biomedical Innovation, and a Graduate Diploma in Conscious Sedation and Pain Management from the University of Sydney (2003).
His commitment extends far beyond his own patients. As a former Associate Professor at Griffith University School of Dentistry and Oral Health, and Adjunct Associate Professor at both the University of Queensland and Queensland University of Technology, Dr. Doan has mentored hundreds of dental graduates — instilling in each of them the same exacting standards and compassionate, patient-first philosophy he embodies every day in the clinic.
